user interface design
designing a delightful journey
A new face on the competitive Nordic getaway scene, Arctic Holiday was ready to break the ice and make their online presence known. They wanted a website which would wow visitors with the stunning natural beauty on offer and allow them to easily book a variety of tours and experiences.
I created a website which works on all screen sizes, focused on photography, with alluring landscapes and refreshing action shots to tempt tired souls. I selected booking software tailored for set-date tours, providing a seamless user experience and ensuring the awesome imagery is still the star of the show.
For the tour pages it was crucical to keep the interface simple, with a booking form that did not crowd the visual space. I put a prominent Book Tour Now button at the top for a fast-track to the available dates for each tour, and created a way for the site administrator to choose to display either a calendar (tours with many starting dates) or a list. The booking form itself pops up over the page. There is also a pre-booking Tour Enquiry button at the bottom, which also launches a pop up.
